Ford Fusion vs. Honda Accord

Sedans are considered as bottom-line of the automobile market worldwide. Here we are talking about the midsized sedans from the world’s most popular automobile companies: Ford and Honda. We will compare the sporty Ford Fusion with the elegant Honda Accord.
Ford Fusion is popular among the masses for its little bit aggressive styling, thick metallic grill in the front and the chunky brake lights. The cabin of the Fusion is very simple and conventional yet appealing while controls are very smooth and feel rich. Ford gives plenty of options and choices to buyers such as: gas or hybrid technology, manual or automatic transmissions and a choice of four engines with all or front-wheel drive.

The base models have 175 horsepower with 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine and 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The 6-speed automatic transmission helps improve the fuel economy which is a big plus. The gas mileage of Ford Fusion is 24 MPG in the city while it improves to 32 MPG on the highway. The interior space of the car is not huge but it is arranged in a manner to make best use of the available space at top level.

The driving position is lower than in the traditional sedan but there is enough space for the legs and over the head to fit in nicely and comfortably. The safety side of the car doesn’t have that much to offer but still does the job well. In safety features, this car has standard airbags and stability controls. It also comes with the traffic information and navigation system.

Honda Accord on the other hand has always brought the luxury car image and the best evidence of it is the availability of active noise cancellation feature. The Accord has great body control, powerful brakes and responsive maneuverability. The gas mileage of Accord has always been a strong point for the car. Accord gives does 26 MPG in the city which gets up to 37 MPG on the highway.

The Accord has kept the always refreshing interior but after having a close look it seems like a more stylish rather than user friendly. The Accord is vastly spacious from the inside. The seats are very comfortable and plenty of room is available for the passengers to fit in. The navigation system has been installed in the car coupled with the rear view camera system and voice recognition.  As far as the safety is concerned the Accord has anti lock brakes and electronic stability control with airbags and active head restraints.

So, over all it is pretty much head to head between both these sedan beauties. But generally the Honda Accord noses ahead from Ford Fusion purposely for its fuel consumption, internal space and the safety features. As Honda has a proven track record in providing such feature in each of its product line. So, Honda Accord emerges out as winner in this competition.

  2. I was impressed with the speed performance and detailing of Mitsubishi Lancer. And compare to Toyota Corolla they are quite look sportier. However, its price tag is kind of pricey.
